ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION REMINDER
Enrollment verification was due on Friday. If you received an email from Student Accounts to confirm enrollment verification for some or all of your students, please complete the Google Form as soon as possible. This work is essential for students to get their financial aid disbursed by Friday. To find this email, search for the subject: “TIME SENSITIVE: Verify Student Enrollment” from Student Accounts. We appreciate your attention to this time-sensitive activity.
INCOMING STUDENT SURVEY SEPT 21-25
Each year Champlain administers a survey during the fourth week of the semester to new, incoming students to 1) to connect them to resources that will help them succeed at Champlain, and 2) to get feedback on how to improve what we do for next year’s incoming class. It is more important than ever for us to hear from our first-year students. If you teach a first-year course, please remind students to check their email for a survey invitation. Responses will help current students and help us improve for next year’s incoming students.
DISCUSSION FACILITATORS NEEDED FOR THE HATE U GIVE FILM EVENT
The first event for our Community Read programming is on September 28, at 6:30–8:00 PM. This event is going to focus on the film adaptation of The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Streaming access to the film is now available through the Library. This will be a large Zoom discussion with both Champlain College and Saint Michael’s College. We’ve estimated attendance of appx. 250.
We plan to make this discussion manageable through breakout rooms of 6-10 people, and as such, we need a good number of facilitators. The plan is to have a 50/50 split with Champlain and St. Mike’s facilitators. There will be a meeting for facilitators prior to the event on Wednesday, September 23 at 10:00 AM to go over the details of the event and review expectations. This session will be recorded for those who cannot attend.
