Champlain College has appointed Dr. Craig Winstead as the new Dean of our Robert P. Stiller School of Business. Dr. Winstead comes to Champlain with over two decades of experience in business management and education in corporate and academic settings. As Dean, he will support the College’s career-focused curriculum and innovative growth through expanded industry partnerships, an increased focus on diversity, equality and inclusion, and more.
“I am honored to lead the Stiller School of Business at Champlain College,” said Dr. Winstead. “Champlain’s unique approach to learning shapes passionate and inquisitive students who are ready to be leaders in their fields. I’m excited to build on that through deepened community partnerships and expanded degree programs in growing business fields.”
Prior to his role at Champlain, Dr. Winstead taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels as an Associate Professor with tenure at Saint Leo University in Florida. He was instrumental in developing new undergraduate and MBA programs and served as the Management and Operations Department Chair for five years. Before he transitioned to academia, Winstead worked for twelve years at Verizon Communications, where he developed and delivered training programs for employees at all levels of the organization and managed complex projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

Dr. Winstead holds a Ph.D. in Organization & Management from Capella University, an M.S. in Leadership & Business Ethics from Duquesne University, a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s in Theater Arts from Bowdoin College.
