Update to residence hall guest policy

Hello students:

I am writing to share that, effective today, we have updated our residence hall guest policy to allow residential students, and off-campus students participating in Champlain’s routine testing program, to visit each other in any residence hall. When we began the semester, restricting access to residence halls was a critical part of our efforts to establish the health of our community. Your commitment to the Health Pledge, participation in weekly testing, and adherence to public health measures made this update to our policy possible and this is an important milestone.

Please understand that the maximum number of guests allowed still remains the same, two guests per room/suite. We must remain vigilant in following the strategies to mitigate the transmission of this virus, but we can spend time with each other in meaningful ways in the residence halls. We will continue to track the health of our campus and the broader community and may make further adjustments in response to the state of the pandemic.

I appreciate your diligence thus far, and look forward to continuing to work through this unique semester with you. If I can be of assistance to you, please reach out to me at deanofstudents@champlain.edu.

Sincerely,

Susan Waryck
