FALL UPDATE

On Wednesday, President Akande’s message to faculty notified our community that we will be welcoming students, faculty, and staff to return to our campus next fall.  Our returning Provost, Laurie Quinn, also sent a reassuring message to faculty noting that we can expect an update on the ’20-’21 Academic Year Budget on Monday, June 8th and that there will be an opportunity to hear more from Laurie at a summer Provost’s Forum on June 10th.

CLT ANNOUNCEMENT
The Center for Learning and Teaching will be taking a mini-sabbatical during the first week of June. We will use this time to continue developing our processes, resources, and training sessions in preparation for the fall semester. From June 1 through June 5th, members of the CLT will be unavailable for meetings or one-on-one appointments. If something arises that needs immediate attention, please send an email to the clt@champlain.edu inbox and someone will respond as soon as possible. If there is an urgent Canvas-related matter, you may reach out to Dan Selicaro directly. For all general Canvas questions, please visit the Canvas Guides or click on the Help button in any Canvas course.

CLT RECOMMENDED WEBINAR: BETTER STUDENT ENGAGEMENT DURING COVID-19
Champlain faculty care deeply about engaging every student in the learning process.  We want to capture the imagination of all of our students, regardless of whether we’re meeting remotely or in the campus classroom. We want to invite students to fully participate, express their unique perspective and acquired knowledge, and apply their developing skills. The Chronicle of Higher Education is offering a webinar on Jun 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM to provide tips for connecting with and supporting students while activating them.  Here is the link for more information and webinar registration.

LIBRARY NOW OFFERING CONTACTLESS PICKUP OF MATERIALS

The library is pleased to offer contactless pickup for library materials. Follow these instructions to request physical materials (eBooks and databases continue to be available 24/7). This is a soft roll-out, and we will make changes as needed to protect the health of our community and meet patron needs to the best of our ability. Direct any questions about this service to swilson@champlain.edu.
