Update from Dean of Students to Burlington, VT Residential Students
Hello Residential Students:
This email is a follow-up message to the communication you received earlier today from President Laurie Quinn. If you haven’t read that message yet, you will find it here and in your email.
As President Quinn shared, students are asked not to return to the Burlington campus following spring break, which has been extended through March 20. Following the extended spring break, classes will resume via remote/online instruction on March 23. Students are expected to stay home unless you fall under one of the categories below. Please complete the Housing Registry Spring 2020 on (The Housing Director) THD if you are:
- A student who is currently on campus in break housing and not able to depart
- An international student
- A student who has a hardship that prevents you from departing campus, or
- A resident of 194 St. Paul Street (194 St Paul St. residents will be allowed to remain on campus, however we are asking all students in campus housing to complete the registry for tracking purposes.)
We will review all requests to remain on campus and provide a decision within 24 hours. Please do not return to campus without approval. Student ID cards will not allow access to the residential spaces until your request through the Housing Registry has been granted.
If you need instructional supplies (textbooks, notebooks, laptop, additional clothes, specific hardware or software) from your residential space in order to continue with remote instruction, we can allow you to access your residence hall during these two windows of time:
- Friday, March 13 between 10:00 AM—2:00 PM or
- Monday, March 16 between 10:00 AM—2:00 PM
During these times you are expected to go to your room, gather the things that you need, and depart campus. You do not need to remove all of your belongings. If neither of those times will work for you or you are not able to access the Burlington campus easily, please email email@example.com. Our staff will work with you on a specific plan for you to retrieve what you need.
Dining Hall hours will be adjusted during these next few weeks. Additionally, shuttles to and from 194 St. Paul may adjust. Watch for additional emails to come regarding these services.

Please remember you are not permitted to be in campus housing unless you have been approved through the Housing Registry process or until further notice.
