FACULTY CHECK-IN WITH DEANS
The deans or their designee have been scheduling calls with each of their faculty in their divisions this week and next to check-in. In these conversations the deans/designee will ask what decisions the faculty have made related to their current thinking for Fall 2020 and will relay any relevant information back to the Registrar’s Office on the faculty’s behalf. The same process is in place for connecting with adjunct faculty by the week of July 13th. Faculty are not asked to make a final decision about remote or in-person teaching by this meeting, this is simply an opportunity to connect, answer questions, and share relevant information.
SECTION START/END TIME ADJUSTMENT
As part of our continued planning for next fall, staggered course start times are under consideration. As we collect information and know more we will continue to communicate our plans.
FALL 2020 STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS
With the continued uncertainty associated with the global pandemic, we have made the tough decision to cancel Champlain’s Fall 2020 programs in Montreal and Dublin. The students impacted were notified last week.
FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY
Check out REMOTE, a free virtual conference hosted by Arizona State University on July 13th and 14th. The event’s timing aligns well with the course design and development work we are engaged in this summer, and its offerings appear to be quite thoughtful and comprehensive.
ANDREW CORROW: OFFERING CONDOLENCES
Andrew Corrow, husband to longstanding and now retired staff member from the Provost’s Office, Jo Corrow and father to Josh Corrow, a member of our Physical Plant team passed away suddenly this week. We know that many of us are still connected to Jo and Josh, and invite you to join us in sending positive thoughts to the Corrow family at this difficult time.
