Technology is a Social Justice Issue

Tune in for the Fall 2020 Social Impact Scholars Intersections Series: Technology is a Social Justice Issue. The COVID crisis and the recent election have exposed how now more than ever, technology is a force that influences social issues, politics, and everyone’s lives. How can we use technologies like augmented reality to raise consciousness about important social issues? Can programmers actually influence politics? In what ways do gender and other identities play out in the tech world? Our panelists will discuss! Join Cybersecurity Professor Duane Dunston as he shares case studies in augmented reality; Justin Addams & Nick Floersch of Code for BTV as they discuss programming for good; and Social Impact Scholar and Game Design student Molli Shuker. A Q&A session will follow.
