Resilience Conference: All Community Keynote, Trauma & The Brain

This keynote will set the stage for a month-long conference focused on resilience, well-being and trauma-informed practices. It is important to know exactly what is going on with the limbic system and how trauma differs from “big stress.” C-PTSD will be defined which includes a pandemic. Some basic tips for using “trauma language” in the classroom will be discussed. “Survivor Brain” versus “Learning Brain” and the importance of mindfulness to clear the working memory. Additionally, This keynote will provide information about which specific PTSD symptoms have been triggered by COVID and why and how to address them. Speakers include Dr. Barbara Colombo & Dr. Kim Quinn. Attend in-person in the Champlain Room or watch virtually via Zoom (to be posted here shortly). A recording will be available for future viewing, as well.
