Join Game Studio Career Coach, Michelle Holtkamp, and the Career Collaborative on a Career Ed*Venture to two game studios in Troy, New York. This event is intended for Junior and Senior students who are interested in gaining firsthand insight into what it’s like to work in a game studio. We’ll meet on campus for an early departure, where we’ll travel approximately 3 hours via Premier Coach transportation to tour both Velan and Wolfjaw studios. After the brief tours, you’ll hear from employees (some of whom are Champlain alumni) from a variety of roles about their career experiences, with a Q&A session at the end of each studio visit. In between studio visits, you’ll have lunch with some industry professionals in a casual environment, giving you an opportunity to practice networking and forge relationships with industry pros. Breakfast/road snacks will be available on the bus while traveling, and a stop for dinner will be made on the way home. It will be a true Ed*Venture!
Shortly after you register for the event, you will receive a questionnaire about your interest in participating in the event. Space is limited, so please take the time to respond thoughtfully. If selected to participate, you will receive an email from Michelle asking you to confirm your attendance and to sign a waiver. At that time, specific details will be provided about the event (such as the exact meeting place).
This is an all-day event on a Friday, which may require that you miss class time. You are responsible for making arrangements with your professors regarding missed class time.
