On Tuesday, April 2nd, Alumni Auditorium at Champlain College will be “the room where it happens” as 18 students compete for bragging rights and $2,700 in cash prizes at the 17th Annual Elevator Pitch Competition. Students have 90-seconds to deliver a persuasive message to a fictitious character called “The Suit” in one of three categories – Advocate, Entrepreneur, or Job/Internship Seeker. This season’s Pitchers represent a variety of majors and class years. The event is emceed by CCM professor Keith Oppenheim. Faculty and staff portray “The Suits” – B Good, Ed Venture, and Abraham LinkedIn. Community leaders serve as “celebrity” judges to evaluate the pitches. Professor Cathy Duffy and professor emeritus Dave Mona tally the scores. Audience members vote for the Fan Favorite in each category. The event gets underway at 7:00 PM.
