RAMADAN REMINDER

Please note that Ramadan begins this Thursday night, April 23, which will make Friday, April 24, the first day of fasting, so most of our Muslim students will also be fasting. The asynchronous nature of much of their current coursework is probably beneficial on this front, but please be mindful of this. The first week of Ramadan tends to be a challenge, and it lines up with the final week of the semester.

INCOMPLETE GRADE PROCESS SPRING 2020

We encourage faculty to work with their students as much as possible to complete their coursework by the end of the term.  That said, we also understand that there may be circumstances where a request for an incomplete grade is warranted.  For Spring 2020, if students are requesting an incomplete grade for medical reasons, the need to provide official medical documentation has been waived.

We will follow our normal process where faculty work out a plan to complete the coursework with their student(s) and gain approval from their dean.  Once this has been done, faculty can use this incomplete grade request email template to document the student request with the Registrar’s Office.  The link to this template will also be available in all future Academic Affairs brief messages in the “Quick Links” section below.  Students do not need to submit the PDF form, this email will suffice as documentation.

Reminder: The deadline to request an Incomplete Grade is Wednesday, April 29.  The deadline to request SUF grades, if your student is also considering this option, is Friday, May 1.

CLT TIP: COMMUNICATE WEEK 15 EXPECTATIONS

Please be sure to communicate your plan for course closure and assessment with your students for week 15.  For more tips for week 15, CLT provides 1:1 support and this article.
